I think it is interesting that most of these trends include many multiplied colors, gradients and even real imagery. I like that designers are pushing beyond traditional barriers that printing reproduction could cause and creating some cool designs.

Beyoncé has finally taken to Twitter and Tumblr http://www.beyonce.com/inspirations
2012 has been dubbed, by smarter people than I, the Year of Tumblr. In Queen Bey fashion, Ms. Knowles leads the charge by completely revamping her web presence, starting with an RFP to seek out an agency partner to design her new site. http://adage.com/article/digital/digital-marketing-beyonce-unveils-revamped-web-presence/233955/
Bey ended up working with Designed Memory http://www.designedmemory.com/ and the result is a veritable rabbit-hole of inspiration, video, and photos of baby Blue and her glowing new mom, sans makeup. And even a shot of Hov (that’s Jay-Z to the unwashed masses) cradling his tiny girl.
The new web presence transforms Beyoncé from glittering consumer good to wife, sister, mother, and human incarnation of overall genetic blessedness.
